About Matthew Johnson
With nearly two decades in the architecture industry, I’ve worked across every phase of project delivery—proposals to concept design through the construction phase—and in nearly every role.
My experience spans corporate campuses, convention centers, educational facilities, government buildings, hospitality, science and technology, tenant improvements, urban planning, and workplace design. I’ve built teams, developed budgets, tracked progress, and steered complex projects to completion. Along the way, I’ve learned that success in architecture isn’t just about delivering great buildings—it's also about establishing good relationships and running a great business.
That’s why I started StudioLedger.
For me, this shift into consulting felt like a natural progression—a way to continue building on my experience while aligning with how I think and operate. Just as architecture is a balance of art and science, so is running a design firm. But too often, firms lean heavily into the creative side while struggling to measure, scale, or sustain their growth.
StudioLedger exists to help firms bring that balance.
